The word Hattialli means “the way of the elephant” in local Assamese dialect. Traditionally, this area has witnessed a large population of elephants that are drawn to this tea estate due to the abundance of high quality sources of food that grow in the surrounding areas.
Spread across 430 hectares, Hattialli is home to 800 permanent workers (61% of whom are women), 1 hospital, 1 temple, 2 churches, 3 football fields, 6 bungalows and 2 community clubs for workers’ recreation.
Though Hattialli commands instant recognition and reverence among Assam Orthodox Black Tea connoisseurs across the world, their small batch artisinal green teas are equally appealing. These teas are made with selective clonal plucking
from Hattialli’s famous “Sessa” division and are flash roasted to preserve maximum flavor.
