Gopaldhara is located in the northeastern slopes of the Rongbong Valley in the Mirik Valley area of Darjeeling. It is one of the highest elevated estates in Darjeeling. Spanning 320 hectares in area, over half the total area is planted with tea bushes. High elevation Darjeeling estates are known for producing superior quality teas, and at Gopaldhara planting continues to be carried out in the vacant high elevation areas.
Tea bushes are planted at a elevation of 5,500-7,000 ft. making Gopaldhara one of the highest elevated estates in the world. Moreover, there is a commitment to replanting with new varieties of high quality clonal tea bushes thereby ensuring a premium product, no matter the type of tea.
Harvested days before the Darjeeling tea plants head into winter dormancy, this tea is produced as an oolong using mixed Clonal leaves. The liquor has a delicate yet sparkling character with a delightful bold flavor, distinct from both the First and Second flush.
2.5 gms per 6 oz of filtered water, steep for 3-4 mins at 195 F/90 C.
